Qualification #13for2013

Another one on the check list! I completed my Assessors Award at college on Tuesday {subject to final marking} and I cannot tell you how good it feels to have completed my course. To know that I have another qualification behind me that can lead to some exciting new career opportunities within my current job or by changing all together. I’ve always hated the idea of sitting still and stagnating in my life which is probably why I do so many courses in my free time, this one has been the biggest thing I have done for about 3 years!

While I had my ups and downs on the course overall I really enjoyed myself. My mentor and Assessor were such a great support to me, I am so grateful for them. So what will I do next! It’s great to see things being checked off my 13 for 2013 list and this one was such a huge time constraint that now it is done I can move onto another one of my goals. Hope your 2013 goals are going well!

Lookbook: Copenhagen

Topshop bib necklace, Primark waistcoat, Topshop scalloped vest {similar}, H&M brown leather belt, Topshop jewelled cuff, Asos red pleated maxi {similar}, Aldo Kalika Brown leather heels.

I wore this outfit on the ship in the evening, unfortunately during the day in Copenhagen it threw it down with rain and my outfit got soaked, but it was mainly Jeans and a jumper so nothing different from my normal posting. I have to admit I am a bit of a Gossip Girl fan and put this look together based on an outfit Serena wore; fans of the show will know what I am talking about.

I wore a similar look last summer when I got the maxi originally but decided to add the jewellery, waistcoat and change to heels as normally I wear it with boat shoes for a comfy downtown feel. I only pieced together the look because my sister gave me the waistcoat instead of getting rid of it. I’ve been borrowing or digging out a lot of clothing recently, it’s always nice to find something you haven’t worn for ages or try something new for a while.

Have a look at my Copenhagen Photo Diary for some of the sights and my thoughts.

Lookbook: Oslo

H&M striped tee (similar), Topshop denim button up skirt (similar), Vintage Seiko watch (similar), Converse white all star shoe.

So I know this isn't the greatest set of photos for an OOTD but I kept forgetting to take photos at the start of the week so I had to compile this one from some of the snaps my family took, though they still sort of do it justice. When I packed for this trip I had no idea what the weather would be like because when you hear ‘I’m going to the Baltic’ you instantly tend to think of the cold weather despite the fact they can have hotter summers than the UK {not hard though normally}. So I packed a bit of everything.

The skirt which is from Topshop and I brought a few years ago but for the city and occasional strong breezes it was perfect. I paired it with a striped tee and my converse for a comfy look with a nautical feel, as stripes always make me think of sailing and the seaside.

Lookbook: Mannish Monochrome

It’s no lie that until the last few days the weather in the Britain has been dreadful, we have been hidden under a cloud for what seems like an age. So I put together this outfit to keep cool and warm at the same time as the weather has been close. I was going to a meeting at college and wanted to look smart and classical, I toughened up the look with my Topshop ARABEL boots. I wish I had worn without socks now but there we go, live and learn.

My college work is now nearly over, thank heavens. I am really looking forward to finishing my course now and getting some extra time back to enjoy summer with my friends. I feel like I haven’t seen most of them in ages. It will also give me time and chance to get back into my blogging and outfit posts.

Michael Kors Watch

While on holiday I decided to treat myself to a new watch, I’ve been looking for one for a while but I haven’t been able to find anything I really like. Normally I’m a silver accessories kind of girl but recently I have been buying a lot of gold and so decided I wanted my watch to be gold. I didn’t want something to thin and girlie but something chunkier almost like a man’s watch and knew I liked this style as I have been using 2 of my Dads watches recently since I didn’t have one.

So when I spotted the watches on the cruise I was excited to see they had a few that I liked and all at US prices and then a discount on top of that, which made them more reasonably priced too. In the end I narrowed it down to two watches and finally decided on this beautiful Michael Kors chronograph. I love the fact it has the chronograph and that while it is a chucky watch it has a beautiful face with diamantes to give it a feminine edge and dress it up a touch.

Goodbye Google Reader!

I have noticed a lot recently blogged by my fave bloggers about Google Reader disappearing and other ways to follow their blogs. For me while I'm still working to understand all of the ways you can follow blogs but I have 2 main suggestions if you don't want to lose my blog and keep following {which I hope you will}.

1. Bookmark it! - Add my blog to your bookmarked websites so you can pop back and see what's been happening. Good, old fashioned and simple.

2. Bloglovin - Its been around for a while and I haven't made the best use out of it myself but I am remedying that. You go over create your profile and you can import all your blogs from google reader straight to it. I also have an icon to the right that will take you to my blogs profile on Bloglovin. You can choose to get e-mails with updates on so you can read your fave blogs straight from the e-mail or they also have an app so you can check your fave blogs easily on the go.

How will you be following your favorite blogs?
